Have you ever met a player who hasn’t dreamt of beating a casino? I guess it’s a secret dream of any risktaker. Any table game comes with dozens of winning tips and methods. Do they really work? How effective they are? There is only one way to figure it out: to test them in a real game. So we have tested one of the most popular roulette betting strategies – the dozen bet method. Allegedly it guarantees you high paybacks and rises your chances to win. The strategy is used for European and French Roulettes. And it is basically pretty simple.
Roulette odds depend on the wager type. There are inside and outside bets. Inside bets are straight ups, splits, streets, six lines and corners. Outside stakes are odd/even, high/low, red/black, dozens and columns. Just a few words on each of the wagers.
Straight up bet is a wager on one number and it gives you odds of 35:1. It is the biggest payout in roulette. Split bet is placed on splits, two red or two black neighboring numbers. This stake’s odds are 17:1. The street wager is betting on three numbers and the odds for this bet are 11:1. Corner bet is a bet on four numbers and its odds are 8:1. The column bet odds are the same as the street’s – 11:1. One more inside stake is the six lines. It’s when the bet on six numbers with odds of 5:1.
When it comes to outside bets, the odds are different. The so-called even money bets like odd/even, red/black, high/low are paid 1:1. Wagers on columns and dozens have 2:1 odds. The method we are talking about deals with only one stake type – the dozen bet. As you can see, the odds for this one are not high, so what is the trick.
First, for those not familiar with roulette and its betting system. A dozen is a bet on one of three dozens on the betting table. You may bet on the first dozen (1 to 12), second dozen (13 to 24) and the third dozen (25 to 36). To make your bet, simply place chips on the betting table area marked 1st 12, 2nd 12 or 3rd 12. This is an outside bet, so don’t place your chips on the betting area with numbers. Believe it or not, placing chips on each number of a dozen in a limited time might be quite complicated.
And here comes the tip. Before placing your bet, observe the game for some time, skip a few spins. You have to figure out the dozen that hasn’t been hit for a while, at least for two spins. Then all you have to do is to place your stake right on this dozen. If you are not in the waiting mood, just take a quick look at the History feature. Most online casinos offer it nowadays. History feature indicates the last winning numbers.
So after you have figured out the dozen, it is time to think about the bet itself. And the first question would be: How much to stake? Well, that pretty much depends on your financial resources and on table limits. Different casinos and different tables have different limits. So you have to check them in the menu section.
Suppose the minimum table limit for the dozen bet is $1. So you wager the minimal bet of $1 and wait for the results. If you lose, stake $2 for the following spin. Do not change the dozen, stay on the one you have chosen. If you loose again, rise the bet to $3. Afterwards, if you still haven’t won, start doubling the stakes for the following spins.
So your first bet is $1, the second is $2, the third is $3. The fourth stake is $6, the fifth is $12 and the sixth goes up to $24. Then it just goes higher with every spin, up to $48, $96 and so on until the win. You may round 96 to 100, as it would be easier to make calculations.
As a rule, your dozen wins no later than the sixth spin, when your stake is $24. So you win $72. $24 is your sixth bet amount, $24 you have lost in previous spins, so your net profit would be $24. But what if you won on the ninth spin? Your wager is $200. It means you get back your $200 bet and win back your lost stakes of $196. What’s more your net profit will be $204. See, the more you wager the more you actually win. All you have to do is to bet on a dozen.
But there are different ways of betting on a dozen. Besides the one we have just spoken about, here are some other choices you have. You may bet on every number of a dozen in the same manner: the 1st time bet $1 per number, the 2nd – $2 per number and so on until you win. You may stake on splits, on the street or on six lines within one dozen. These techniques come in really handy if table limits are very high.
Some casinos limit you minimal wager on a dozen to $10 and above. Which is rather high. If you are not ready to spend so much in the very first spin, try betting on streets or six lines instead. The six line bet is like the best wager option is this situation. It takes only two of them to cover all the numbers of a dozen. Say you want to bet on the first dozen. Place your first six-number wager on numbers from one to six, and put the second stake on numbers from seven to twelve. Et voilà.
Thus far this Roulette strategy has proved to be successful. You may not only break even, you may keep your payouts high and may actually profit from the game. All you need to do is stick to one dozen But remember, roulette is a game of chance. And if you are a working stiff, no great gambling strategy will be able to help much, even the best and the most reliable one.
